Muddled

Dear Internets,

Things I am currently baffled by:
  • The Universe sent me breakfast tacos and Girl Scout cookies today. I asked for donuts, but honestly I prefer the tacos and cookies. Can the Universe read my mind?
  • I put "spend gift cards" on my to-do list. Who does that? What self-respecting, childless 20-something needs to schedule shopping trips?
  • Do mortgages become subprime if the house loses value? I mean, the 20% equity that makes a mortgage prime? un-subprime? traditional goes away. What is the definition of subprime?
  • Why am I too lazy to consult Google to find out the definition of subprime?
  • Why am I disappointed that there are no crappy comedies out that I want to see? Why don't I have the energy to see an "Oscar movie"?
Maybe I just need a nap. I hope you have a wonderful, un-befuddled weekend Internets.

Love,
Jane

btw... Subprime means "below the prime interest rate"... which currently stands at 3.25%. So if you were to get a home loan with an interest rate of 3%... that would be a subprime loan... now why is that bad? well it's not... at least initially... the problem is those subprime loans were generally ARMs (Adjustable Rate Mortgage) so it'd be 3% for like 2 year... then skyrocket up to like 10%. People don't like to read fine print so...

As for crappy comedies... A sign of the apocalypse... "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" has been #1 at the box office to 2 weeks in a row.

what is a breakfast taco?

I am ashamed to admit this, but I kind of want to see New In Town. Even though I hate both romantic comedies AND Renee Zellweger. Figure that one out.

I feel you on the fact that Oscar movies take a bit of energy. Sometimes I just want to chow on my popcorn and move on from reality.

Liam - Maybe (hopefully) it's less a sign of the apocalypse and more a sign that everyone is... too focused on being awesome at life to concentrate at the movies? OK, maybe that's a stretch.

Hillary - A breakfast taco is a tortilla filled with some combination of breakfast items: eggs, bacon, cheese, migas (kind of like TexMex scrambled eggs), potatoes, sausage, etc. They complete me. And I kind of want to see New In Town, too. I feel the same way about romantic comedies and Renee Zellweger.

Kim - That's how I feel right now. Especially about the popcorn. Mmmm... Popcorn...

Uhh--the universe took my taco and gave it to you!

Don't worry about the shopping--I have been intending to find jeans for months now, and it just hasn't happened!
